What You'll Need

Only a few tools stand between you and a great cup.

  • AeroPress coffee maker
  • Coffee beans
  • Hot water
  • Grinder
  • Spoon or stirrer
  • Timer (optional, but helpful)

Step 1

Heat fresh, filtered water to about 200°F. While it heats, grind your coffee to a medium-fine consistency—similar to table salt.

Step 2

Place a paper filter in the AeroPress cap and rinse it with hot water. Assemble the AeroPress and place it over your mug.

Step 3

Add coffee to the chamber. A good starting point for an AeroPress recipe is 17–18 grams of coffee.

Step 4

Pour in hot water up to your desired level, then stir gently to fully saturate the grounds.

Step 5

Let the coffee steep for about 30–60 seconds. Attach the plunger and press down slowly and steadily.

Step 6

Sip and enjoy. Smooth, balanced, and ready just as fast as you are.
