Step 1
Grind as much coffee as you’d like to make to a fine, espresso grind. We use 18g of coffee to make 36 grams of espresso.
Step 2
Distribute your espresso in an even layer.
Step 3
Hold your portafilter against your counter or other sturdy surface, and tamp your espresso down, making sure that your tamper is level and that you apply force evenly into the basket. Press down until you feel resistance from the counter.
Step 4
Insert your portafilter and position your cup on the driptray. Hit the brew button to begin your extraction, letting the espresso drip into your cup for 25-35 seconds or until you’ve reached 36 grams of espresso.
Step 5
Admire your crema, take a sip, and enjoy!
